Interviewing Students

Interviews as a way to get feedback on teaching from students

Written course evaluations have limitations. Most particularly, they do not allow for dialogue, for the probing of details or the clarification of potentially ambiguous statements. One solution is for a peer or other individual to collect information from students through interviews, either as individuals or as a group. The quality of the information increases dramaticaly.

Sample Report based on two faculty peers interviewing students in a mid-semester discussion with the whole class.
