The Sun Conference on Teaching and Learning is dedicated to building a community of university teachers whose commitment to instructional excellence transcends disciplinary, cultural, and national barriers. The focus of the conference is on practical, applied strategies, tools, and techniques. All university faculty, instructional staff, teaching assistants, instructional developers, and administrators are invited to share their innovative teaching practices, and to explore with their peers transformative college and university teaching methods. As university teachers, we are charged with designing learning experiences, environments and challenges that help students become knowledgeable and skilled in our disciplines. For students to succeed at the highest levels, we must help them learn how to learn, and think effectively in their chosen discipline.
